Physio's based at Liskeard:

Hayley Matthews – Physiotherapist

I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2006 and have been working within private practice and the corporate sector for most of my career and enjoy the freedom to go the extra mile for my clients.

I gained my Pilates qualifications with the APPI in 2007 and have previously taught Pilates – up to 12 classes per week! I have found the Pilates hugely beneficial on a personal level with my other passion, which is horse riding.

In addition to my physiotherapy tools, I am also qualified in the use of acupuncture for pain relief and musculoskeletal disorders, and I am a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. I have had success treating a variety of ailments with acupuncture from Sciatica to headaches, Arthritic knees to children with chronic pain.

I have a special interest in the treatment, management and prevention of sports injuries and for five years I spent my Tuesday and Thursday evenings, as well as Saturdays working with rugby players; Initially a local amateur team and then in a semi-professional environment at Launceston (it’s not as glamorous as you think!).

Or

Paul Atkinson – Physiotherapist

Paul has spent the past 10 years working for Plymouth Argyle FC and prior to that working for Heart of Midlothian FC and Dunfermline FC – 18 years in professional sport! His career initially started out in the Royal Navy medical Branch qualifying through the military as a Physio in 1993.

During his career he has worked with the English Football Association U16 and U17 age group squads, Devon County RFU, is a guest lecturer at Marjon University and is a English Football Association Medical Tutor…. a fantastic asset to our team!

Paul brings a huge wealth of experience to our clinic whether you are a serious athlete or a weekend runner, wether its back pain or arthritis.
